“I'm a stronger person than when I first started. My perception of my own strength has increased. I know how to advocate for myself, and I’m able to make a decision that is right for me and not other people.”

FAQ: What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

Coaching is present-focused with actionable steps to achieving goals in specific areas of your life.

Therapy is more clinical and covers the present and past using a variety of therapeutic techniques. It often includes assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions that arise as a result of past and present situations.

While there is overlap in coaching and therapy, coaches do not diagnose or treat mental health symptoms. They help you put together a plan based on your specific goals and understand how to break down barriers you may face while acting on it.

Therapists are also bound by state licensing, while coaching is not. Dana Daugherty is licensed to provide therapy only in Pennsylvania and Florida, but can provide coaching globally.
